info for artists – Made in the Hood at events

Made in the Hood at Gallery events & Craft shows

Made in the Hood will occasionally arrange to host a gallery event, such as Open Studios, or arrange a stand at a local craft event, such as a Village Market or Christmas craft fair.

When we do so, we will have a Made in the Hood banner and promotional material which publicises the website.  This is beneficial advertising for all artists who are listed on the website.

At the time of organising attendance at an event, we will offer the opportunity to all artists listed on the site to share in the event.  This would mean several artists being able to display goods for sale at the event (depending on space available and size of work)

The cost of these events is not included in the web listing price.  We would expect all artists participating in the  event to share in both the costs of the event, and the work involved in promoting, setting up, manning the event and clearing away.  We would not expect this to be an onerous task when shared among a group of people.

Each artist would need to take responsibility for labelling and pricing their own work, and for insuring it against theft or damage.  We will share the cost of public liability insurance.

Participation in these events is entirely voluntary; however, we hope that operating shared stands for a Made in the Hood collective will prove to be a low cost, enjoyable experience for all who take part.
